McMaster Institute for Research on Aging (MIRA) – Labarge Catalyst Grant Program
Together with their collaborators, ARiEAL Researcher, Dr. Victor Kuperman, and the postdoctoral fellow from the Reading Lab, Dr. Aki-Juhani Kyröläinen received funding from McMaster Institute for Research on Aging (MIRA) to further investigate the social mobility in older adults. Through the Labarge Catalyst Grant Program, MIRA has awarded a total of $240,000 to six interdisciplinary research proposals, each with team members from a minimum of three different faculties and the goal of improving mobility for older adults. Drs. Kuperman and Kyröläinen’s project is entitled “Writing of age – Linguistic markers of cognitive, emotional and social well-being among older adults“.
