[Learning Series] Online Networking

Please join us for our next learning series event! This is part of a larger series of talks on the topic of “Finding a Job after ARiEAL.” We have a variety of events and workshops lined up, including visits from past ARiEAL trainees to talk to us about their career paths, how the skills they acquired at ARiEAL helped them find their jobs, and, perhaps most importantly, how they found their jobs. We’ll have more on this in the coming weeks.

For this next talk, Jared Kunar, Career Development Advisor at McMaster’s Student Success Center, returns to ARiEAL to discuss Online Networking. We know, we know, no one likes networking. However, networking is an important skill that can significantly help with your job hunt and career success after your time at ARiEAL. This workshop will take place on November 16, 12pm at LRW 4018.

During this workshop, Jared will help you:

  1. Identify the Value of Networking:Participants will be able to articulate the benefits of networking, both professionally and personally.
  2. Develop a Personal Brand:Attendees will learn to create and maintain a strong personal brand to enhance their networking efforts.
  3. Craft an Engaging Introductory Statement:After the presentation, participants will be able to construct an effective elevator pitch tailored to different networking situations.
  4. Sustain Conversations:The audience will acquire the skills to start and maintain meaningful conversations in networking environments.
  5. Practice Networking Skills:Through practical exercises and scenarios, participants will practice and refine their networking skills, boosting their confidence and capabilities.
