Department of Linguistics and Languages will host a talk by Dr. Elissa Asp from the English department & Linguistics program at St. Mary’s University (Halifax, NS) on November 15, 2017. This is part of the Cognitive Science of Language lecture series of the current academic year. In this talk, Dr. Asp will explore the value and challenges of venturing into the relative wilderness of cognitive neuroscience of natural language use through review of imaging studies employing tasks with (varying) claims to ecological validity such as scene description and picture naming.
