Pint of Science is a non-profit organization that brings scientists to pub to share their research with the community. It held the first Pint of Science festival in just three UK cities and soon expanded to nearly 300 cities worldwide. Pint of Science Canada started in 2016 and ARiEAL Research Centre is honoured to be part of the 2018 festival!
Director at the ARiEAL Research Centre, Dr. John Connolly, and his doctoral student, Rober Boshra, will be at the West Town on May 14, 2018, 5-7 pm to talk about the cognitive consequences of coma and other brain injuries. Here at the Language, Memory, and Brain Lab, Dr. Connolly’s research uses brain imaging tools to study and assess the cognitive and neuroanatomical consequences of brain injury, including coma, disorders of consciousness, and concussion. Dr. Connolly and the lab aim to use objective brain measures – in contrast to behavioural measures that are prone to error – to assess the neurocognitive consequences of brain injury and to develop tools that improve prognostic accuracy of brain injury cases. Come to hear the latest research and meet the people behind the science!
