The ARiEAL researcher, Dr. Victor Kuperman, is one of the co-applicants of Words in the World. This is a partnership of several psycholinguistic and neurolinguistic groups in Canada, including Dr. Kuperman’s Reading Lab and a vast network of collaborators and partners all over the world. Words in the World is in the process of creating the groundwork for a student-led International Association of Post-Doctoral and Student Researchers.

The CAM (Current Approaches to Morphology) 2017 is the first streamed workshop of this initiative, organized by The Centre for Comparative Psycholinguistics and the Department of Linguistics at the University of Alberta. This is a one-day event being held on Wednesday December 20th from 8:30am-5:30pm MST in the TELUS Building Room 134. The programme includes two plenary talks by James P. Blevins (University of Cambridge) and Harald Baayen (University of Tübingen), as well as various presentations on theoretical, experimental, and computational approaches to morphological phenomena in a variety of languages. There is no registration fee, but please fill out the registration form if you plan on attending. Coffee, tea, snacks, and a light catered lunch will be provided. More information, including the registration form and the full programme, can be found on the website: https://sites.google.com/ualberta.ca/cam2017/home.
